Patricia A. Arean is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSF and is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She served as a PST psychotherapy expert for the IMPACT study, a multi-site trail of stepped care for depression in older primary care patients. She also works as a consultant to counties implementing either PST or IMPACT models into the public sector. Her work has won national recognition, resulting in an early career award from the American Psychological Association, a Mid-career Award from NIH for her work on disseminating evidence based practices to low-income older adults with memory impairments and The Award for Achievements in Diversity in Mental Health from the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry.

Maura McLane, MFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has worked as a psychotherapist for over 20 years. Maura has extensive experience using Problem Solving Therapy and other evidenced based treatments in her work with depression, anxiety, anger management, substance abuse and phase of life transitions. Maura is a certified Problem Solving Therapist, trainer and supervisor, and is an Associate Clinical Professor in the UCSF Psychiatry Department. Maura has worked with Dr. Patricia Arean, Director of the UCSF PST Training Institute for over eight years delivering PST to individuals and groups in the UCSF Over-60 Research Program, UCSF outpatient psychiatry, and training clinicians to use PST in their community based mental health treatment programs.
